Well Water Testing for Aesthetics
Before your well water enters your plumbing or irrigation system, it’s drawn from underground aquifers surrounded by rocks and natural minerals. These minerals and other elements can seep into the water, affecting its clarity, acidity, and overall quality. If left untreated, your water can cause damage or buildup on anything it comes into contact with—irrigation systems, faucets, fixtures, appliances, dishes, and plumbing—throughout your home or property.
What Damage Can Untreated Well Water Do?
Depending on what’s in your well water, it can cause:
Mineral
buildup
Pipe
corrosion
Water
discoloration
Foul
odors
Gritty-feeling water
Dry or stringy-feeling hair
Blue, red, or brown stains on appliances, fixtures, clothes, etc.
Water spots or cloudiness on glasses and dishes
Dry or “soapy”-feeling skin
Although these issues don’t pose a health risk, they can be major nuisances for homeowners and businesses relying on well water. That’s why Greene’s Water Wells offers the testing you need to understand what’s affecting your water.
We provide aesthetic water testing at no cost to all customers—whether or not we installed your well—to help identify the root causes of common water quality concerns:
Hard water | iron | iron bacteria | acidic water | sediment
The results of your test show the filtration and conditioning equipment you need to tackle your water problems and begin enjoying clearer, more neutral, and well-conditioned water.
We encourage well owners to reach out for free testing at the first change of the appearance, taste, smell, or feel of their water.
Well Water Testing for Safety
Whether you’re drinking it, cooking with it, bathing in it, or using it for business operations, your water should be free from harmful contaminants. Unfortunately, well water can sometimes contain bacteria like coliform, including dangerous strains such as E. coli.
Coliform bacteria typically enter groundwater through contaminated surface water that seeps into the aquifer. E. coli, a more serious health concern, often signals contamination from sources like leaking septic systems, sewage lines, or cesspits.
If you suspect bacterial contamination in your well water, Greene’s Water Wells offers safety-focused testing (available for a fee) to assess the severity of the contamination and recommend appropriate treatment.
We also provide water testing for real estate transactions to ensure well water meets safety standards before buying or selling a home.
Coliform is usually treatable through chlorination, while E. coli contamination may require more extensive solutions, including relocating the well.
